What is a Target Market Determination?
A Target Market Determination is a document which describes who a product is appropriate for (target market), and any conditions around how the product can be distributed to members.
It also describes the events or circumstances where we may need to review the Target Market Determination for a financial product.
Why does Transport Mutual Credit Union need to have Target Market Determinations?
We are required to have Target Market Determinations under the Design and Distribution Obligations (Pt 7.8A) of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth).
This is to make sure we’re keeping members at the centre of our approach to the design and distribution of our financial products.
What are our Design and Distribution Obiligations?
Design and Distribution Obligations are designed with the aim of helping our members obtain financial products that are suited to their objectives, financial situation and needs.
These obligations are effective from 5 October 2021 and impact a broad range of financial products including home loans, car loans, savings and term deposit accounts. To access Target Market Determinations for our products, click on the individual links below.
