Help Kids Establish Good Habits for Saving and Spending
The TMCU Kids Saver account is high interest savings account for children under 17. Whether you’re a parent, grandparent or guardian the Kids Saver account is a great way to save for their education or to help your child learn about the value of money and to develop good spending and saving habits.
- Account must be opened in the childs name
- The child may receive regular correspondence via post or email (newsletters; activity sheets; financial education; competitions etc)
- Statements will be received via post as a default
- Online statements will be available as an option for children over 12 years old that request internet banking
- Must show either Birth Certificate or Photo ID (if available) of the child to be eligible to open account (certified copies must be emailed or forward via the post)
- The parent/grandparent or guardian will need to provide their own photo ID
- 3.50% interest applies to the first $10,000. Amounts over $10,000 are calculated at the Multi Access (S4) interest rate.
- Only one account can be opened per child
- At 17 the child becomes an adult member and the Kids Account will be closed and funds will be transferred into their new adult account
